Lisa Heresh's debut poetry collection is a continuum of spaces and times, whose plots don't speak directly to the reader, but rather pass through the defamiliarizing filters of the author's inner speech. In her foreword, Maria Zemlyanova writes:
"The poems in 'My Boyfriend, Audre Lorde' form a multiverse-assemblage. There's a cartography liberated by the fluidity of the language that assembles it, characters with a plastic, again thanks to language, corporeality, and notions of spirituality and, accordingly, myth."
Lisa Heresh (b. 2002) is a poet and translator. She is a graduate student in Slavic Studies at Harvard University and editor of an online journal devoted to vexillology. She was awarded the Andrei Bely Prize as part of a team in the "Best Project" category (2023). She translates from English, Belarusian, Yiddish, Italian, German, Polish, and other languages. She studies Eastern European literature.
