Publishing books in Russian outside of Russia is currently experiencing a real boom, with many new publishing houses, fairs, awards, and various book initiatives emerging.
What do Russian-speaking authors write in exile, and what is the fate of these new literary institutions in Europe? Can Russian culture develop in isolation from its homeland? What is its future—without its country, but within a European context? And do Europeans understand that Russian-speaking émigrés are now permanent residents of European countries, their future citizens, and several million new voters, often young, educated, and experienced in resisting the totalitarian regime that threatens Europe today?
