Valery Bochkov is a Russian American writer whose work combines the traditions of Russian classical literature, its psychology and depth, and American cinema, its spectacle and fascination. "His books are like a Tarantino film retold by Nabokov," critics say about Bochkov's prose. Perhaps this synthesis is also due to the fact that Bochkov is a master of two arts - literature and painting. He is in demand as a writer: more than twenty books have been published in Europe and America, many of them have been translated into foreign languages, and have been awarded literary prizes. Valery Bochkov is a laureate of the "Russian Prize", a laureate of the E. Hemingway Prize (Canada), and a laureate of the N. Gogol Prize. Valery Bochkov is also known as an artist: his works are exhibited in galleries and museums in Russia, Europe, and the USA.
