"Raiduga" / "Rainbow" is one of the oldest literary magazines in Europe. Next year, 2027, it will celebrate its 100th anniversary. For a long time, it presented readers with the best Ukrainian writers writing in Russian. But after the outbreak of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, it also began publishing in Ukrainian. During the difficult war years, it became a quarterly publication and positions itself as an almanac. Among writers now widely known outside of Ukraine, it was in "Rainbow" that Andrey Kurkov, Marina and Sergey Dyachenko, and Anatoly Krym made their debuts. Prose published in "Rainbow" by authors such as Alexander Volodarsky, Nikolai Khomich, Boris Finkelstein, Valentina Aksi, Henry Lion Oldie, Marianna Goncharova, Alexander Khurgin, Alexander Mardan, Alexey Kurilko, and Sergey Cherepanov (the list goes on) has since been successfully published as individual books, including in other countries. The geography here is broad: the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Greece, China, Poland, Switzerland...
Readers and literary critics also highly praise the poetry on the pages of Raiduga. Regular contributors include Alexander Kabanov, Irina Evsa, Mikhail Yudovsky, Irina Ivanchenko, and Yuriy Rybchinsky. Every year, Raiduga discovers new talented names. Most recently, Lina Mikhailova and Vadym Petrasyuk were featured. Since 2022, each issue of Raiduga has addressed the current war—the resilience and courage of Ukraine and the atrocities of Putin's horde.
