Valery Ledenev, born in 1985 in Moscow, is a poet and art historian. He graduated from the Moscow City University of Psychology and Education in 2007. His first book of poetry was published in 2008, followed by three more, and he has also published as a translator of contemporary American poetry. He has published texts on contemporary art in Artchronika magazine (where he served as its editor from 2011 to 2013), The Art Newspaper Russia, The Garage Journal of Museum Studies, and elsewhere. From 2014 to 2022, he was senior librarian at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (Moscow), where he coordinated the project "In a Single Copy" about artist books. Since 2023, he has lived in Germany. He is a visiting professor at Goethe University Frankfurt and a visiting research fellow at the Klingspor Museum of Book Art and Printing in Offenbach.
