Nikolai V. Kononov is a writer. He has worked as a journalist and editor. He made his literary debut with the novella "Islands and Dreams" (2009). He has written two nonfiction books and two novels: "Uprising" (2019) and "The Night We Disappeared" (2022). Kononov's texts have been translated into English, Hungarian, German, and French. His new book, "Populist," a critical biography of Pavel Durov, the creator of VKontakte and Telegram, is being published by Freedom Letters.
