Dima Zitzer is a teacher, educator, writer, public figure, radio host, and YouTuber. He was born in 1966 in Leningrad. He graduated from the Pedagogical University (philology) and the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre Arts (directing), and holds a Ph.D. in pedagogy.
"I began working as a creative educator a long time ago, because I'm most interested in human interaction with others, with the world around them, with their profession, with knowledge, and with themselves. For many years, I've enjoyed working on a wide variety of teaching and educational projects in many countries. The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army dramatically changed not only what I do, but my entire life. Since that day, I have had no connection to any educational or personal projects in Russia.
Together with my colleagues, I develop and implement a pedagogical approach we call "Non-Formal Education" (see the book "Practical Pedagogy. The ABCs of NO"), and I get tremendous pleasure from it. My colleagues and I also teach this approach to anyone interested at regular seminars. In 2025, Meduza published Zitzer's book "Love in Turbulence" for parents—it helps find solutions in the most difficult situations (even those where, at first glance, finding one is impossible).
