Alan Charoit Alain Charoite is a writer, musician, actor, theater director, and LGBT activist. He is the author of the "Divnozerye" book series and a finalist for the "Book of the Year" award on LiveLib. He writes books in the mythological fantasy and Young Adult genres. Thirteen of his novels have been published by AST. Two more of his novels, "Rain Roads" and "Dragon's Rainbow," were banned from publication in Russia due to their inclusion of LGBT characters. He currently resides in France, where he moved under the "Passport to Talent" program. He previously worked as the artistic director of a musical theater in Moscow and taught acting and stage speech. He is the author and director of eight musicals and twelve musical mini-performances. He participated in the theater portion of the "Year of Japan in Russia" national cultural program, supported by the Japanese Embassy. He is the author and co-director of the play "A Christmas Tale," staged as part of a volunteer project at the Ukrainian Center in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, and performed in Ukrainian in 2024. He is also the author of the one-man show "The Hero's Journey," which features anti-war and LGBT themes and premiered in Paris in 2025. He has released fourteen solo albums and seven singles. He has performed in Ukraine, Montenegro, Bulgaria, and France.
