Tamizdat Project (New York) is a research and philanthropic project dedicated to the study of emigration and diaspora culture, state censorship, and banned texts from the Cold War to the present day. The project includes: an electronic archive of documents on the first publications of smuggled manuscripts from the former USSR and Eastern Bloc countries abroad; public events for students, researchers, and the general public in New York; academic conferences; oral history; summer school; library and publishing house. Since 2022, the project has been supporting students and scholars forced to leave their countries due to war or persecution for their political views.
