Maxim Goryunov was born in Uman and graduated from the Philosophy Department of Moscow State University.
He taught at the Higher School of Economics and published as an essayist and publicist. In 2018–2022, he lived in Minsk and hosted the intellectual and publicistic program “Idea X” on the Belarusian Euroradio.
He made his debut as a poet in 2019 in the magazine "Air", in 2020 the book of poems "Geopolitical Lyrics" was published, in 2025 - the second collection "Listening to British Night Radio".
