Lyceum 2 has been offering courses for interested children in Munich and online since 2018. Dozens of winners of mathematical Olympiads have studied there, including several winners of the All-German Olympiad. At the same time, the Lyceum tries not to focus on competitions, but to awaken and strengthen interest in mathematics and support students on the paths they choose for themselves. In addition to mathematics, the Lyceum offers courses in physics, chemistry, programming, linguistics, literary studies, literature in English, art and chess. It is a meeting place for all children and adolescents seeking knowledge, where conferences, game evenings and a summer camp are also held.
The main value of the Lyceum is its teachers. Experienced specialists in their fields or enthusiastic students, they share their interests with children with great energy and know how to inspire. Many of the teachers are famous educators with a unique program.
A branch of the Munich Lyceum opened in Berlin in October 2024 – full-time courses in mathematics, linguistics, journalism, chemistry and physics for schoolchildren from the third grade. Unlike the courses in Munich, the emphasis is not only on Olympiad problems, but also on the basic mathematics program. The courses are held in three languages – German, Russian and English. The Lyceum’s Berlin team includes Natasha Soprunova (author and curator of the mathematics program), Boris Iomdin (linguistics), Misha Gantman (physics/chemistry), Roman Super (journalism), Mitya Leonkin (mathematics), Vasya Rogov (mathematics), Irena Stojanovska (mathematics). And starting in the fall of 2025, Anna Bronovitskaya plans to teach a course in art history and architecture.
