The Dar literary prize was established by Swiss Slavists in 2024. It is intended for all authors writing in Russian, regardless of their citizenship and place of residence.
More than 150 authors submitted their works to the first season competition. 12 works were selected by the Expert Council for the shortlist of the award. The shortlist was announced at the end of January 2025.
From this moment the work of the Jury began, which will end at the end of May with the selection of the Prize Winner, who will receive a grant for translation into three languages: English, German and French. Simultaneously with the work of the Jury, a reader vote is held. Each reader can vote for the author they like. The minimum vote is 10 euros, there is no upper limit. All donations will go entirely to the authors of the works. In this way, the Prize decided to support authors and publishers - the books are not in the public domain, they must be purchased.
