The Second Berlin Book Fair 2026 in Figures

The fair was attended by 25 book and 15 magazine publishers, Russian-language reading clubs and libraries, Berlin public organizations working with the Russian-speaking community (Zukunft Memorial, SLoG, Club Dialog eV, Quarteera eV, Open Parents, Clavis children's school), the decoder project, the Lyubimovka drama project, and the Dar award.

For three the main events of the day took place 116 events with participation 126 speakers.

The fair was visited by about four thousand people (as well as children and dogs).

The fair program was held on one main and two additional sites.

The cultural program of the fair was opened by once a theatrical performance by Maxim Isaev and Alexey Aygi of the KatlZ Riga theatre project.

More than 100,000 views were read. 22 hours of poetry (including the debut of the two-day poetry festival Voice_B).

As part of the general discussion and individual presentations, the following was presented: 13 literary magazines – online and in print.

Шесть The fair's events were dedicated to Russian-language theatre outside Russia.

Three The fair's important discussions were held with simultaneous translation into German and generated great interest among the German public and responses in the press ( https://bookfair-berlin.de/presse/)The Dar Prize announced its shortlist at the fair 12 nominees.

Books were presented 3 Belarusian authors and 1 Ukrainian magazine.

Minimum 13 The fair's events were dedicated to teenagers and young people – how to talk about politics, how to adapt to emigration, how parents can support their LGBT children.

For the first time, the fair was held once A teachers' forum where teachers presented Russian language and literature textbooks written outside of Russia.

Was introduced once An art project by Masha Trotsky featuring a presentation and exhibition of AI photographs.

two Large discussions were devoted to current issues of translation – poetic and prose.

The Swiss publishing house zeitkind participated in the fair for the first time. bilingual German-Russian novelties.

There was a meeting in the book room once folklore concert.

Four Publishing houses made their debut at the fair and brought their very first new releases.
