Not Far From Here. A meeting with Kira Yarmysh and the presentation of her new novel, "Not Far From Here"

Kira Yarmysh is Yulia Navalnaya's press secretary and a longtime ally of Alexei Navalny. "Not Far From Here" is her third novel, and the first written in exile.

October 11, Saturday, 18:00 PM
Library at the Water Tower
Prenzlauer Allee 227–228, 10405 Berlin
Free admission

Registration via the link.

The main characters, best friends Eva and Nika, haven't spoken or seen each other for 10 years, and after an unexpected encounter, they're forced to flee across Russia. Along the way, they'll face FSB agents, gangsters, cold, hunger, and—most terrifying of all—their own past.

Yarmysh's first novel, "Incredible Incidents in Women's Cell No. 3" (2020), about a girl who was sent to a special detention center for participating in a protest, has already been translated into many languages.
The second book, "Harassment" (2022), about an office worker who became a victim of harassment, was published after the author had already left Russia.

Come talk and ask questions!

The meeting was moderated by Alexandra Zerkaleva, editor of Meduza publishing house.

Kira Yarmysh's books will be available for purchase and signed at the meeting.
