The discussion brings together three books published in 2025 by three different publishers: NLO (Egana Dzhabbarova's "Terra Nullus"), NoAge (the "It Makes Sense" series) (Evgenia Zakharchuk's "Three Stories at My Wake"), and shell (f) (Dinara Rasuleva's "Traumagotchi").
These texts explore what it means for a contemporary Russian-speaking author to live at the intersection of cultures, to experience trauma and emigration, to talk about her body and language—and why it is women's* voices that set the tone in contemporary prose.
We'll also discuss what topics are currently relevant for young authors and what they're taught in creative writing courses.
Books will be available for purchase at the meeting.
